SmartSpend Privacy Policy

This policy explains how SmartSpend, provided by Meerriz Tech, handles information in the Android application.
Information you provide
SmartSpend stores financial records you enter, including account names and balances, transactions, categories, budgets, planned payments, savings goals, notes and labels. Guest records remain local to the device.
Account sync and cloud recovery
If you create an account, Firebase Authentication processes your email address, account identifier and authentication information. During sign-in, SmartSpend requests access to the matching Google Drive account. SmartSpend encrypts a financial snapshot on the device before uploading it to the private Google Drive app-data folder. One random encryption key is stored in a Firebase document that can be accessed only by the matching authenticated Firebase user ID. This allows the same SmartSpend login to restore the encrypted snapshot after reinstalling or moving to another device without storing financial records in Firestore.
Email/password users can recover access to their SmartSpend login using the password-reset email. Drive permission is reused after sign-in so routine synchronization, backup and restoration do not repeatedly open Google account selection.
Advertising
The free version may use Google Mobile Ads. Depending on your location and consent choices, Google may process device identifiers, approximate location, advertising interactions and diagnostics. SmartSpend requests applicable consent before ads are loaded and provides privacy-choice controls when required.
Sharing
SmartSpend does not sell financial records. Information is shared only with service providers needed for features you choose, such as Firebase Authentication, UID-restricted Firebase key storage, Google Drive account sync and Google Mobile Ads, subject to their terms and privacy practices.
Retention and deletion
Guest data remains on the device until it is cleared or the app is uninstalled. Encrypted Drive snapshots and the account recovery key remain until replaced or deleted. You can permanently delete your SmartSpend login, recovery key and Drive snapshots inside the app or through the web deletion page.
Security
Network connections use HTTPS. Drive backups are encrypted on the device using AES-GCM. Optional PIN and device biometric controls can protect access to the app.
Children
SmartSpend is a general-audience personal finance tool and is not directed to children under 13.
